Under Savannah River National Laboratory’s Global Security Directorate, Packaging Technologies supports radioactive material packaging. With over 150 years of combined experience, the organization supports the Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in the development, modeling, testing, analysis, procurement and maintenance of radioactive material packaging.

Testing and Evaluation Capabilities
The SRNL Packaging Test Center consists of over 2800 sq. feet of indoor workspace and 17,500 sq. feet of out-door workspace for regulatory testing. The Packaging Test Center is capable of performing the full suite of 10 CFR 71 regulatory testing.
