
Vayl Oxford
Bio
Vayl Oxford serves as the director of government relations at Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL). He leads the development of SRNL’s legislative priorities and communicates the laboratory’s research and national contributions to government and industry stakeholders.
Oxford brings extensive experience in national security and defense policy, having served as director of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), where he led global efforts to counter weapons of mass destruction (WMD). He has also held senior leadership roles at the Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Council, including serving as the first director of the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office and contributing to the National Strategy to Combat WMD.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in General Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
