Bio

Terrence Buck is the interim Chief Human Resources Officer at Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL). He is responsible for all aspects of HR, including attracting, recruiting, developing, and retaining the exceptional talent necessary to achieve SRNL’s vision, mission and goals.

Buck joined SRNL in early 2026, serving as the Academic Research Partnerships Manager. Bringing more than 25 years of national laboratory experience, most recently from Idaho National Laboratory (INL), where he led talent acquisition, culture transformation, and organizational strategy in addition to transforming the laboratory’s recruiting infrastructure. Prior to INL, Buck spent nearly 25 years at Brookhaven National Laboratory, where he took on progressively more diverse leadership roles and eventually served as Project Manager for the Human Resources Division and Office of Educational Programs Alliance. In that role, he oversaw efforts to increase scientific staff representation and drove recruitment, retention, and professional development for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.

Buck holds an Executive MBA and Master of Science in Management (Human Resources emphasis) from St. Joseph’s University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Business Public Management from the State University of New York at Utica Institute of Technology. Additionally, he serves as Head of the Governance Pillar on the College of Science, Engineering & Technology (COSET) Board of Advisors at Texas Southern University.
